The reason why black is a staple colour in everyone’s (well almost) wardrobe is in fact dead simple – it is easy to work with it, it goes with everything, also meaning: we are lazy.
Laziness is not necessarily a bad quality, it is a neutral term these days considering how many duties we have to fulfil in a day: work; friends; relationship; parents; gym.... the contemporary lifestyle has become pretty full on and everyone is struggling to juggle their routines and schedule in the hope of trying to fit in all the tasks they want to do in 24 hours! So, for a busy professional woman, that does not really leave her too much time to figure out which cardi she shall pick to go with an emerald dress, I mean who has the time?!
Today we are going to tackle one of those tricky colours: Red.
For loud colours like bright red, pick a small item. If you are to throw on an oversized top, Do Not pick a red one. However, a bright red scarf, a chunky bangle on your wrist, or a pair of tights, yes they can be loud and bright, but size wise they have to be neutral or mini. Remember, bright colours are best to be left as a subtle touch on top of your outfit, not a major piece.
Make sure you pair your item with a bigger piece of item but, of neutral colour. Below is a list you can just follow without even thinking about how to deal with your reds:
A, Red shoes with all other neutral/plain colour item, this should be the most common look we’ve all seen:
It also goes well with basic colours like White top + Blue Jeans:
B, Red scarf with all black or white look:
C, Red dress underneath and neutral jackets/outwears to tone it down so even as a major piece, it is still subtle and serves as highlight of your outfit:
D, Red tights with black or white top:
