I’ve been watching a Netflix documentary ROTTEN about modern food mass production, even with previous exposure to some of the dirty facts about today’s food companies I still found myself highly uncomfortable when confronted with live images and black and white numbers.

This has been long a debatable issue because on one hand consumers want to enjoy nutritious food with the cheapest price possible, directly linking to meat production companies exhausting their ways to cut cost; while on the other hand animal activists have been raising their concern about the inhumane way we raise and slaughter animals. More and more buyers are choosing organic food or animals that have been property treated and processed before they enter the super markets’ shelves.

For example, our whole family opt in for free range raising chickens and eggs a few years ago and we never look back. And let me tell you, yes those eggs do taste better, and the meat are juicier as well. And the most important part? We know we are actively contributing to a more sustainable and ethical way of growing chicken, the more we spend with these businesses the more likely they are going to survive and continue to produce quality food to us in return.
